Human sustainability as number one priority
Gamechanger: (noun) [pers.] pioneer, innovator, pioneer -
In a broad sense, the term "gamechanger" is used to describe something that has a major impact on a specific industry, market or technology, or that radically changes how something is done. In sports, "gamechanger" refers to someone who significantly changes the outcome of a match.
We believe that every top athlete can be a game changer. Whether it concerns turning a match or creating a positive impact within a corporate environment.
At the same time, we stand for a change in the way of thinking and doing within sport. Think differently, act differently. Because the value of a professional athlete does not stop at the lines of the field. It's off play where the real value is added and that can't start soon enough.
For years, professional athletes have put everything aside for their sport. But somewhere they know that their sports career is finite. Yet they often fall into a black hole when they (have to) stop. Because which direction should you choose if you have always been that one athlete?
Already in 2021, research was conducted into the transition to the labor market among active and former top athletes, with the support of the European Union's Erasmus+ programme.
The results of the study showed a major shortage of guidance for both active and former professional athletes in their transition to a life outside of sport.
And that is exactly what OFF PLAY offers: a comprehensive and exclusive platform for (former) professional athletes, meeting their needs during transitions, whether it concerns education, career planning or personal development.

of (ex)athletes say figuring out what kind of job to look for, building a useful network and exploring personal interests are their top challenges.
of (former) athletes indicate that they have great difficulty creating and accepting their new identity outside the sports arena.
“People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”
